I ask because the originals had real problems on most post 2006 videocards, and Battlefront actually sold a upgradt to make them usable on a modern computer.
Do the GOG versions incorporate these patches so they wrok on modern video cards?

Unfortunately patch 1.04 isn't included in the GoG release. I have issues with the 1.03 (the GoG version) that were fixed with patch 1.04. The GoG version should be updated to version 1.04.

In the meantime you can try dgVoodoo to fix your issues. It worked for me but it did make the mouse behave strangely in the menus: http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html
I bought the games and theu run fine on my computer with a Nvidia geforce 650 card.
But, yes, GOG should have included the most recent patch.

Sorry, but what are you talking about? I only see patch 1.03 on the developer's website for both Combat Mission II: Barbarossa to Berlin and Combat Mission 3: Afrika Korps.
I think the 1.04 "patch" was only some kind of "fix" to make the game work on Windows Vista and 7, nothing else.

yeahm that was the one you had to pay for. it was not really a vista/7 fix but a fix for issues the gamw had with modern video cards, although they labelled it a Vistat patch.
I wondier if the guy saying the game was not pathced to 1.04 has tried he GOG version. I needed the 1.04 patch to run the game on my current computer before I bought the GOG edition, but the gog edition runs fine on my computer with a modern video card (GTX 670)..
I suspect GOG put it own version of the video card fixes in it's version. (Fixing older games problems with modern vidoe cards is SOP for GOG. issueAnyway, if it was not working on modern video cards, this forum would have been flooded with complaints.

No, you didn't. The patch was $5. Never $20.

The patch was only for Vista, and per the forums over at Battlefront was only really needed for a few months till new video drivers for Vista came out.
