Hmmm, this is strange.

I recently bought Combat chess when it was on sale. I played it once without any problems, but the next time I wanted to play the game, it would't start. Insted I got this message i a dialogue box::

Critical Error
Not enough memory in load sprite 2 Last Windows Error=8.

I uninstalled the game and reinstalled. Again it worked perfectly fine the first time I played it but the next time I got the same message as before.

Does anyone else have this annoying problem?

Another question. What is UAC and how does one turn it off?

I have tried to change the the versions of Windows and I have also tried to run the game as administrator, but it just won't comply...pitty...I usually don't have problems with games from GOG :-(

Hello,
I don't know if you already solved this problem, but...
This is my solution:
Go to install folder,
Delete chess.cfg file.
Run the game.
Don't check the preload animation in setting.

I hope this can help to anyone...
