I have tried all kinds of steps but still can not get my mouse to work in the game. Any tips or has anyone had the same problem?
Does the pointer show up in game at all? Does your mouse work on the title screen. Are you able to click to skip the opening intro?
I get the same behavior at times. I noticed its when I try and skip the opening credits to quickly... no, really. Just let each image run for a bit before you skip it. The MPS logo, boat sailing, blah blah. Let them run 5 seconds or so then skip it. I know it sounds ridiculous but I can recreate it every time, I feel like it has something to do with stepping out of DOSBox but I have no concrete evidence for that.

I understand there are different reasons for why this happens, but for me the solution was simple. Sometimes the mouse works on the first menu, other times it doesn't. I also suspect this has to do with how fast I push through the initial scenes. I found that simply right-clicking with the mouse anywhere will make the left button start to work.
