Tony_A: Specifically the Logitech G25.
If so, besides force-feedback, is it compatible with the gated style shifter + clutch pedal?
Also, for those that have played both, how does it compare to Richard Burns Rally on PC?
I have the G25, and it is supported, and it's quite a lot of fun. You might want to turn the force feedback down to low in CM 2005, because the steering is really stiff with the G25. It's stiff enough that I'm afraid it will burn out the motors or at least overheat them.
You can't use the gated shifter, unfortunately. But, you still need to have it attached to your desk. Codemasters mapped the left-hand orange button on the shifter as the OK button. Normally, you can navigate through the menus using the keyboard, but there are a couple screens that require button presses on the shifter---Who knows why.
Both CM2005 and Richard Burns Rally are both great games. RBR leans more towards the sim side, while CM2005 is a little more arcade. I find both to be equally challenging. If you take the Japanese course for a spin in CM2005, you'll see just how much fun the game can be. I still give CM2005 a lot of credit for having very detailed pacenotes, and they are always delivered ahead of time. I've run into problems with RBR where the pace notes were coming a little too slowly in cases. Regardless, I own both and like them both.
