I am playing the original Close Combat on a laptop in Windows 11. I have it set to best power efficiency assuming that will deliver the slowest CPU performance, but it's still way too fast. A battle is over in maybe 20-30 seconds. It's obviously very difficult to control.

How can I slow my computer down to something approximating my old Pentium 133?

Does this happen even if you clamp the framerate using whatever video graphics software you have access to?
