I am running windows 7 64 bits and when I try to launch the close combat classic version that comes bundled with any other close combat product it gives me an error about indeo 4.1 not installed.

The product is marked as playable in windows 7. The solution could be install an old version of indeo that comes originally with the game but the installer is incompatible with windows 7 64 bits.

Any advice? I´d really like to try that oldie close combat. Very curious about it.

Greetings

Ok If it is useful for anyone with the same problem I have solved it installing a version of indeo v5, it works and is compatible.

indeo 5 comes with windows you can enable it through the command prompt

open a 'command prompt' using a rightclick, select, 'Run as Administrtor'
type: cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (32bit users can skip this step) - press enter
type: regsvr32 ir50_32.dll - press enter

Not sure about Windows 7 but ir50_32.dll is available in Windows 10.
Well, I use windows 7 for now.

It is one of those not switched on by defect hidden windows peculiarities. If they keep that into code, they should have kept ddraw or a better old windows compatibility "hidden" as well and then the retro gamer life could have been easier these last years :)

Tried installing different versions of Indeo in a Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7 Bottles. No luck. Crossovers always claims to have failed installation, although the installer itself says success. Running regsvr32 ir50_32.dll works on Windows XP, other ir versions don't. Never succeeded to launch Close Combat, always comes up with the error that it needs Indeo 4.1, even when running XP that runs Indeo 5.0.

EDIT:
Had luck with a new Windows 7 bottle. CC and Indeo 5.0 both installed fine. Got the game to launch, videos still didn't play and got this error
