I don`t know why, but it works. I have removed ddraw.dll from the game catalog. Now it starts. I don`t know how the game will work. But at least it starts.

Alas, similar problem, tried your solution, no dice. Tried patches, no results. Tried compatibility mode, no results. Other suggestions?
