The keyboard works for the menu but in-game none of the keys do any thing.
The options let me set the axis and those work in the menu and in-game but there is no settings for the buttons and none of them are mislabeled button settings.
I have re-downloaded and reinstalled a few times.
I know about remapping keys and game controllers but without the interact key I can't do anything.

If you're running the Windows version of the game, can you try running it as administrator?

Running as administrator doesn't change anything.
Looking around I found that Unity games Player Preferences are stored in the registry under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\[company name]\[product name]". Looking in the registry I found my other Unity games don't store all their settings in the registry. Regardless here is my "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GoldenTricycle\CLARC"

"Screenmanager Resolution Width_h182942802"=dword:00000780
"Screenmanager Resolution Height_h2627697771"=dword:000004b0
"Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode_h3981298716"=dword:00000001
"UnityGraphicsQuality_h1669003810"=dword:00000000
"__Input Joystick Number Joy1 Axis 1_h2933141813"="4"
"__Input Joystick Axis Joy1 Axis 1_h3169749365"="0"
"__Input Joystick Number Joy1 Axis 2_h2933141814"="4"
"__Input Joystick Axis Joy1 Axis 2_h3169749366"="1"
"__Input Joystick Number Joy1 Axis 3_h2933141815"="4"
"__Input Joystick Axis Joy1 Axis 3_h3169749367"="2"
"__Input Joystick Number Joy1 Axis 4_h2933141808"="4"
"__Input Joystick Axis Joy1 Axis 4_h3169749360"="3"

Is the interact button missing from the settings, it possible to add a interact button from here or is this a dead end?

I've managed (in clarc) to configure my (no name) gamepad to walk and rotate but I can't talk, no button does the trick. Any way to configure it or to use keyboard instead of the gamepad? (Using Version 1.0.0.3 on OS X 10.9)

Only thing I can think of would be to just unplug the gamepad while playing CLARC.
Looking at the Unity Joystick Tutorial-Demo the registry should have
"__Input Key Posjoystick button 0"="joystick 4 button 2"
but that doesn't work when placed in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GoldenTricycle\CLARC].

Unplugging the game-pad before starting Clarc switches the keyboard on (the interact button is space) and I can plug the game-pad back in after starting Clarc and redirect it to the keyboard to play it, not really a solution but it makes it playable.
You call this a "solution"? This is a clear bug. I bought this game and now I have to unplug my gamepad anytime I want to play clarc? There must be another solution. I have many other Linux games working flawlessly with my gamepad, so this is a a problem with CLARC! :-(

I agree. I guess I wasn't clear, I'm not happy at all with this workaround. It was probably the wrong thing to do but I decided the question I asked was their is no interact button.
