The game apparently has a conflict with the controller and keyboard I can not disable the mouse and keyboard to use only the stick acceleration and move the ship.

Do you have a solution?
Solution: The workaround is to use the controller with Bluetooth, use a 3rd party controller application and have that running, start the game, set to use controller in the in-game settings, and it will be bound correctly and work correctly.

Have fun :)

Some info on this for those that need something further:

If you haven't solved it yet, the game has some controller oddities and a very specific way to get it working correctly.

Tested on PS5 controller. You can adjust the 3rd party application for Xbox controller such as by using X360CE, add it as a 3rd party game to Steam and use Steam input, or whatever. For PS5 controller, am currently using DS4Windows.

The game doesn't work correctly from USB in this instance. The game's internal controller support doesn't work correctly in this instance. USB controller is not viable here unless one disables controller in the game then rebinds in 3rd party application keyboard + mouse to the controller (this is another solution btw but will have keyboard + mouse in the prompts so this is a worst case solution if someone had to).

Possible problems:

If the game does something like skip two menu items when moving on the game's menu, this means that the controller is being doubled by two controller software. For this game, BT works fine here with 3rd party software. If seen, stop one as it will not control properly with controller being doubled.

If the controller isn't staying connected on BT or not working correctly from BT, first make sure battery isn't depleted. After that, its often going to be the BT hardware driver and should reinstall it or find a different one. There's some other possibilities.

If your computer doesn't have BT, its possible to get a BT USB adapter.

There's other possible problems I'm not getting into.
