Adventurers: Great news, and it even runs very well on my 10 year old Linux notebook. The only problem I had were some unreadable blocky texts (see attachment).
Iglu47: I found this moment in game (look screenshot)
what distro/gpu vendor?
list of dependencies packages can be found here:
https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-on-linux-release-notes-and-known-issues.350256/#post-2267217 also do you see something in the log?
`/home/$USER/.config/unity3d/Dead Mage/Children of Morta/Player.log`
Thanks for your reply. I am using a notebook from 2010 with ATI FirePro M7740 graphics (open source driver) on Debian Buster (10.5).
An astounding amount of games still work on that machine.
The log contains lines like:
Renderer: AMD RV740 (DRM 2.50.0 / 4.19.0-10-amd64, LLVM 7.0.1)
WARNING: RGBA Compressed BC7 UNorm format is not supported, decompressing texture
Curl error 6: Could not resolve host: config.uca.cloud.unity3d.com
Curl error 6: Could not resolve host: cdp.cloud.unity3d.com
There are many of that WARNING lines but not when showing the blocky texts.
Sometimes some of the texts toggle between blocks and readable characters (e.g. on the tabs) so I guess there are no dependencies missing else it would never work, would it?
Some of the unreadable texts are readable in the log (but unfortunately not all).
But it's a really old machine with graphics below the minimum system requirements (only 1GB of video RAM) so maybe nothing to worry about. On the other hand, besides of that it runs really well. ;-)
By the way: I do not like phoning home into the cloud but because of that I am playing offline anyways. It's a pity that such cloud features are on by default instead of opt-in (would be more in the spirit of the GDPR; but I know many people want achievements and other alike features).
Besides of that little graphic glitch it's a great game. Thanks again for bringing it to Linux.
