I have nothing but blank bars in the game, can't read any options for anything. Playing on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, on a laptop with a GTX 460M graphics card & i7 cpu. Any suggestions?

I also bought Beyond Good and Evil here and it won't even load - guess I should maybe stay away from these old games with this setup. :(

Some things to try out:
- install the DirectX 9 package, if you haven't already.
- Right-click on the game shortcut, pick 'run as administrator'
- Go to shortcut properties, try running with different compatibility modes.

Hi, thanks for responding. I have tried running the game in all the various compatibility modes and as admin, and nothing has changed. I currently have DirectX 11 installed. Are you saying that I would need to uninstall it and install the older, DirectX 9, version?

DX9 installs next to DX11, does not overwrite it.

I gave it a try, but unfortunately it has made zero difference. Guess maybe I'll just end up counting this as a lesson learned. ;)

Okay, I installed it on another computer which has the same OS, an AMD processor, and an ATI graphics card, and it runs fine, and without DirectX 9. So I'm thinking my main culprit now on the laptop is likely the Nvidia gpu, maybe a driver issue, maybe just some setting that needs to be turned on or off.

Anyone got any recommendations for what setting (s) I should focus in on?

If anyone has found a solution, it'd be most welcome. I may have finally managed to get past the crash when launching it, but now I see no text on the buttons. (Win7, 64-bit, nVidia, DX9+DX11)
