I would like to play the game with the original Japanese text, and the game info indicates this should be possible, but I can't find the option anywhere to switch languages.

That is unfortunate, and a bit strange. On Steam there is language select for both Recettear and Chantelise, so I guess I will have to do my first and hopefully last GoG refund.

Please take a look at this thread concerning Recettear. May be you should do the same ? Asking support if they can try to include it in game ? It's the same situation, and it seems that GOG try to ask the dev's about this.

I''ve already sent a refund request, but if they add in the original text I'd be happy to keep it.

I have Recettear on Steam and have played that in japanese (there is a language option for the game in the steam client that replaces the game files with the original japanese release, different title music and all), so I expected it to be the same deal with Chantelise on GoG.

I figure maybe nobody thought anyone would care about the japanese text in these two games (and I guess Carpe Fulgur are more focused on their translation). If they do add them back in I'll hang on to my Chantelise purchase and maybe buy Recettear on GoG as well
