At least this way, you'll be supporting the artist directly through Bandcamp.

Also, Bandcamp offers downloads as FLAC, besides mp3 and WAV, so there's that, too; you can choose whichever you like.

WAV is lossless so no problem to convert in FLAC! Many Soundtracks I own here on Gog are FLAC.

The good news is,

you won't NEED to convert anything;

Bandcamp ALREADY offers downloads available as FLAC (along with a wide variety of other file formats),

they let you choose what you want.
