yazleb, I like your review of this game. Is it fulfilling your desire for sprites? If so I'll jump on it. What are your other all time favorites in 2d? Maybe some I haven't discovered. Polygons always seem so lazy to me. Its taken a lot of years and technology advances for them to get it right.

When it comes to 2D sprites, I can't remember any game I've played that does it better than Diablo 2.
Age of Empires 2 comes close.

Ah my quest to collect many sprite based games is going well and GOG is helping.
Original War is well animated.
Diablo 2 is of course the king.
Some others I have collected recently and have enjoyed:
Robin Hood, Desparados, Commandos series.
There are always RPGs from bioware/black isle like planescape torment, baulder's gate, etc.
One 3D game that pulls off a sprite-ish feel that I highly recommend is Temple of Elemental Evil.
How about you, can you share some favorites, preferably well animated with good gameplay.
