Not a huge issue but the cutscenes are kinda iffy to skip, sometimes they can only be skipped with the space button, sometimes only with esc, sometimes it'll take a few times and once I couldn't skip the opening at all.

Both buttons work fine in-game, (Or any other game and program for that matter.) but the problem appears in both the DOSBox and Win95 versions.

Is this actually normal or what?

I have this too. Sometimes Space, sometimes Escape, sometimes Enter or the Return button. Sometimes I just have to wait a couple of moments and then try to skip. It isn't anything game breaking, though, so I wouldn't worry about it, but it does appear (at least to me) to be normal.
Alright, that settles it.

The cutscenes can be as hard to skip as they want for all I care, as long as it's normal behaviour.
Sorry to dig this up, but I think it doesn't matter what key you press or when (even mouse buttons work fine), just for how long. The game only seems to check key presses infrequently while videos are playing, but if one is pressed when it does check, it should always work.

Roundabout way of saying: just keep whatever key you want pressed for about a second, and the video should skip. I have 100% success rate with this.
