Running Carmageddon 1 on windows 8.1. Game plays fine, no problem at all - except that, at the end of the first level, the screen goes black and freezes without an option to save and I have to close the program down. I have read through the community posts and have to say that it is not just taking it's time (I've left it 20 minutes with no change). I have tried the Dosbox Fullscreen Problem Fix on youtube (editing the dosboxCARMA.conf file) to no avail.

Has anyone had this problem, or can anyone advise me how to get around it?

Thanks.

You can try the Windows 95 restorationpack.

I've tried it; but no improvement I'm afraid. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Did you also start the game with the appropriate executable (car95.exe)?
Using the car95.exe has solved the problem. Many thanks to you both, your combined effort have saved the day!

Great!
Now please mark this thread as solved by... both. :-)
Erm, sorry chaps; but could you advise how I mark a question topic as 'solved'?

Cheers!
