Maybe like me you purchased the mac version of this game, but not from gog.
Maybe like me you experience a crazy slowdown at level 9 (and, if you can get past that, again at level 11).
If that is the case, I understand it's an issue the devs are stll working on. However, you can skip the level by opening up ~/Library/Application Support/Capsized/Config.cfg and setting the Beaten tag found after "HIGHLANDS" to true.
I had to do that in level 11 as well.
It's a bit of a bummer that we miss two games, but at least you now have a chance of completing it...
