When I first started Cap 2 (purchased from GOG) and started it up in VMWare virtualized OS - XP 64. I looked fine and was displaying accurately. Then I made a mistake! I clicked it to "Higher" display mode. The screen went black, as I mouse over it "paints" the pixels back in, and I can't access the button to go back. I've tried to uninstall (don't keep saves - check) and reinstall but now it opens up in the higher display mode.

Is there a file I can edit to force it to start up in the lower setting? Or another way to accomplish it?

Thank you

Forgive me, I should've put Cap2 in the topic subject.

Not sure if it will help you, but try deleting registry entry, it should be located here - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Enlight Software\Capitalism II

Thanks triock!

Well, I was able to delete two of the three register entries. However I was unable to delete this one (see jpg).
I tried to play the game anyhow - still no good.

BTW - I couldn't find \Enlight Software\ in my HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\, but I found it in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\, but I think this doesn't matter.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my original post!
