These are fun and challenging games, but Cap 1, and Cap 2 should have been released together. I find it hard to think of buying Cap 1 when they will soon release Cap 2.
A bundle would have been nice.

I have to second this. I've not played either game before but seeing Cap2 is coming I am not in a hurry to buy Cap1. I may anyway but it's definitely an issue.
I have to disagree. I played both games extensively in the past and I had a hard time to get used to Cap 2. Im many ways Cap 2 is inferior to Cap 1(plus). For instance the interface is better structured in Cap1. The campaign, and the game in general, is more challenging as well (Cap1). The A.I. seems to be better in Cap1. The way you have to "switch" between different cities in Cap2 is tiresome - I liked the one big map in Cap1 better. I also liked the scenario in Cap1 plus, in which you start in ~1950 and you have to research every product you want to sell.
One BIG plus (and why I have only played Cap2 in recent years) is the very decent multiplayer part (LAN, and maybe even online - never tested that). The new concept in Cap2 to build a different store for each product category is also a nice touch.
So when you're looking for a more accessible game to play with some friends: Cap2
If you you want to "learn" a bit about capitalism Cap1 (plus) would be the better choice.
In MY humble opinion!

Everything you write speaks to the need for a bundle from the opposite perspective, sine it sounds that you would likely not pay $10.00 for Cap 2.
I think both 1 & 2 should have been together for $10.00.
Well, I would not have bothered buying Cap+ if it cost five dollars more and included the sequel (which I have, but don't play).

It is just that Cap 2 is not worth $10.00, nor is Cap 1 worth $6.00. There should have been a bundle here for those that do like both (like myself) to make it reasonable.
$16.00 for both games is too steep.
I don't agree at all. Capitalism Plus is easily worth the asking price. The second don't interest me so much, so I'm glad I don't have to pay extra money to get the game I want (Cap +) just because it's bundled with one I don't want (Cap 2).
I agree to both points, but I tend to change my mind here. I don't think it's a bargain to get a game that you don't want. Having never played either, I don't know what I want and thus would have tried both for one price. Perhaps both options would have been nice?
I have fond memories of playing the demo of Cap. 2, but I won't spend $10 on it.
If there had been a bundle of both for $10, then I probably would have bought that.
Buy the original Capitalism Plus, then... it's better than the sequel anyway, IMO.

It absolutely is, it's great fun :D
I love both games...and $16 for both is really not that big of a deal. (The price of 2 movie tickets...and I will enjoy these for more than a few hours at the movies) Thanks GoG for making it possible!!! :)

Last night, I sat down at 1:30 am to play a "half hour" of Cap+. I turned it off 8 am. I think I have a new favorite game.

Yup, time just flies when you're immersed in Cap+ :-).
Oddly enough, I bought CapPlus in a bundle pack a few years ago that included Civilization 2 for ~$15 USD. Was easily the best bundle in simulation gaming history :-)
Unfortunately CapPlus no longer works on Vista, so I will triple dip (I own Cap, Cap Plus and Cap 2) to support GoG and the great Trevor Chan.
