I've been playing Capitalism 2 several years now, over 3 different PCs. My current version is installed on a Windows 7 64 bit configuration, with the 1.08c patch.

Whenever I try to mouse-click the button to raise or lower prices of a product, the game often interprets the click as multiple clicks. I can actually hear multiple clicks, and the price goes up or down multiple increments. It thus "jumps past" the price I want, forcing me to raise and lower multiple time before I finally hit my target.

I had this problem to a lesser extent on my previous PC, but it's very pronounced on my current PC.

I tried running Cap2 in XP Compatibility mode, it made no difference.
I also tried running as administrator, it reduced the problem, but did not eliminate it fully.

To get to my questions:

1. Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, is there any way to address it?

2. My version was purchased from Enlight many years ago, and patched to 1.08c. Does the GoG version also have this problem?

3. Does the latest game, Capitalism Plus, have this problem?

Thanks for any info!

Have you seen that the game has been updated to v1.09 on the official website ? First part of the changelog is "It fixes the typing speed problem and the mouse interacting problem when the frame rate is too high." May be is it the fix to your issue ? (and so you should update your game ;))

I haven't played a lot GOG's versions of Capitalism 1&2 for now so I won't be able to help you a lot more : I only played a little the tutorial of the two games and haven't noticed any trouble, but may be I haven't paid enough attention, or it's a matter of computer.

And if you still have issues with the game, if you want to stick with Enlight version, you should contact them (at the bottom right of the pages of their website, there is written "contact us" and you can see an email adress to contact them).

Hope this helps :)

Yay ! Super-Judas, to the rescue ! As usual, thank you :)
Edit : is it normal that it is not the same changelog as for the patch on the official website ? (see here)

What you see is what we received from Trevor himself :) I think part of those changes are from earlier versions. For example, the typing speed problem was fixed in version 1.08 ( https://www.gog.com/forum/capitalism_series/capitalism_2_has_been_updated_to_version_108 ) and then we've had several versions of patch 1.08 hosted here :)

Oh, ok ! I understand a lot more :D
Thanks to everyone for tipping me off to v1.09 from Enlight. Mouse-clicking is much improved in this version.

I see that the new 1.09 executable is dated Oct 22, just 4 days after my original post.
So, hooray for Trevor Chan for still supporting this game!
