Does anyone know if there's a way to change the game to a higher resolution? Seems like a game from 2001 should support 1280x1024...

I think its locked at 800x600. If you have an ati or nvidia graphics card and run a digital monitor you can set them to scale the image to your monitor. This can be done in your graphics card control panel.
