Every time I start the game I get through the first couple of screens by clicking. And then just before the main menu shows It crashes with no warning at all. I have Vista X64 and I have tried all the video modes and I have also tried by starting in window mode.
Can some one please help?. I don't want to have to ask for a refund.

Yeah i have the same problem, but it happens randomly, sometimes i have to start he game 3 or 4 times to get it running.
EDIT: oh there's already a topic about this problem: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/cannon_fodder/am_i_being_a_moron_how_do_i_start_this_game

Yes there is another thread but it doesn't fix the problem I was having.
I have found a FIX. go to the cannon fodder shortcut on the destop and go to properties and change the compatibility mode to windows XP and set game to use open GL.
The xp compatiblity trick did not work for me. Running as administrator didn't help either.
On my computer at work running XP and an integrated video card the game works fine.
Try editing your dosboxCannonFodder.conf in C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Cannon Fodder and change the cycles value from "max" to "20000".

This worked for me, running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
I had the same problem on Windows XP 32 and the short conf-file edit described above worked like a charm. Thanks for that!
