After completing all phases in Mission 9, when the game should show dead recruits from this mission, the game crashes. I can only hear music and the screen gets messed up, also clicking the mouse doesn't do anything. I can't go further, because all I can do is exit the game. I can't save the progress, because game crashes right after this mission. Am I the only person with this bug? I completed this mission twice, with same result. I read that GOG is analyzing every game step by step, so how is it possible that they released the game, which can't be completed?

I have the same and i don't know what to do.
Same problem here...GOG, Where are you??????
I HAVE DISCOVERED THE SOLUTION !!!!
You have to install DOSBox 0.74-3 (Wednesday, June 26th, 2019) in the folder of DOSbox of the game Cannon fodder 2. You have to overwrite ALL the files of the new version of dosbox in the folder of dosbox of the game.
Remember: the new save-files change the folder with the new version of dosbox!

Gog has the OLD version of DOSbox for their games.
GOG WHAT ARE YOU DOING ???? UPDATE YOUR DOSBOX !!!
I have the same after I have completed mission Nr.9
Update your dosbox in the folder of the game, copyng files of the last version of dosbox from the official dosbox site.
I have finished the game !!! GREAT GAME ! The end is not a great end, only an image....

Remember: update your dosbox and you solve ALL the problems of this game, even the speed of the game.

Thanks, I followed your instructions and yes the game advances to the Lost in Service, Boot Hill and Mission 10. Yes the cloud_saves folder is not used to save and load games now, the game looks in the root Cannon Fodder 2 folder for 'CF' save game files. I uploaded my save file at Mission 10 with 53 recruits to OneDrive if anyone wants to just skip past the bug at the end of Mission 9. It works even without installing DOSBox over the top of the GOG install of DOSBox. Of course the game will still be looking in the cloud_saves folder for save files.

The GOG store page for CF2 has a bugfix update from 20th March just a couple of weeks ago, saying "Verified Mission 9 issue to ensure proper functionality", but even the latest installation as of yesterday has the same crash after Mission 9. I'm disappointed with CF2 as it is, with controversial games journalist Stuart Campbell having taken leadership of sequel and made changes, not appreciating what made the first game great. I don't know how a games journalist and amateur games designer at best, was able to get this job. But if there is another bug causing a crash at a later mission, I don't think it's worth my looking for a solution.

Attached is a screenshot of the CF2 store page showing a 20th March 2025 report of fixes/improvements.

I made it as far as Mission 22:4, ran out of men and decided to stop playing. I began the mission with only 15 men left, mainly thanks to Mission 21:4, which isn't challenging...it's a sick joke, most likely conceived by Stuart Campbell who designed most of the stages. That's the problem with CF2 compared to CF1. It feels like Campbell is fucking with us for his enjoyment, whereas in the first game it felt like we were being challenged and then rewarded for our persistence.
