Anyone tried CTP2 on 10? I have verified it runs without issue (for me at least) on 8.1 x64, but my 10 build 10162 at home just does nothing when I start it. The process is there with around 10% usage, but no window or anything.

Tried in windows 10 x64, build 10162, and the same issue. The ussage is about 23-27 %. Tried compatibility mode in w7 and xp, but is useless.

Plese file a support ticket so GOG staff can take a look. They're currently doing compatibility testing in anticipation of Windows 10 release so this kind of info will be helpfull.

Also post your findings in community maintained Windows 10 Compatible List.

Rather it's premature as the games still need to pass GOG internal QA. As per the news post they are already testing the whole catalog.

I'm well aware of GOG's own ongoing testing process as I mentioned in my very post. ;-p However, we're talking about going thru 1000 game catalog here on multible system setups and configuratioins. Identifying games that have problems will help their efforts as one of the GOG QA team members pointed out in the compatibility topic.

I don't see that mentioned in the news post? I also don't see the point of submitting for example 20 different tickets for 20 different games all with the same known problem, i.e. <span class="bold">winmm.dll</span>, when it's scheduled to be fixed anyway. If the QA team is asking for reports then by all means submit them, but I expect they tracked which fixes they applied to which games.

Did either of you test it with Call to Power II Source Code Project? (alternate download location)

I tried the Call to Power Source CodeProject but the result is the same: I do have a process using 25% of CPU but no window.

As per the link, renaming the winmm.dll file worked for CTP2 for me. Apparently this kills the music... But I doubt its any great loss.
Also tested with the apolyton code; which worked fine.
I've tried every solution I could find here, and I still can't get CtP2 to run. I'm have the same problem as several other posters where the game does nothing, but takes about 15% or 30% CPU process. I'm using an AMD A6 x64 laptop I bought this year. Using Windows 10. Any new ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Hi,

I tried to install CTP2 on two different machines, both running Windows10.

On one machine, I got it running after deleting winmm.dll, on the second, deleting the dll did not help.

On further reflection and backing it up using file search, the deletion will only work, if there is a winmm.dll
on the system somewhere, deleting winmm.dll in the CTP2 folder just means, that the systems gets
scanned and the next hit gets used.

I also tried to use the "valid" dll on the computer, which did not have a dll on its own, but this did not work,
most likely due to different version of the OS, ... one has the retail version, the other the professional version,
and there may be add. differences.

Sound was there, but video was missing, but I went only past the starting screen, 1st turn, i.e. the missing
video means missing Intro.

With kind regards
Marlowe.

PS: After trying to run CTP2 in XP mode, on the computer, where it partially worked ,help to see the into.

I applied this patch and it worked fine:

The game loads fine now, and the music and videos are working.

Edit: Never mind. Music only works on the start screen.

I've tried deleting the dll but not the source code. I just get a black screen and sound but I can't do anything even to quit the game. I have to restart the computer just to be able to do anything

Precise info is sometimes the key.......

Source code you mean apolyton pack?

Did you install directx9.0c?
directplay?

How can you quit the game if you don't see anything?

Task manager?
