Where are those version numbers for released games these days? Those videos has came in the place where it was..
I assume this is the latest version, but it would be nice to be sure.

This is v1.00 - you can tell it by selecting the "help" button on top of the in-game screen and then selecting "about".
That's disappointing to know, the patches went up to 1.0.1, and that patch fixed a number of things.

Ah ok, thanks.
Sorry I didn't make myself clear, I don't have the game yet. Other way I would have checked it already. :)

edit: by the way, you can download those patches from here: http://caesar3.heavengames.com/downloads/lister.php?category=patches

Bad news, you cannot use the patch on the GOG version, it gives a "Not valid Version "error message.
Luckily I still have my CD version and bought the GOG version as a back up
GOG needs to fix this, since the patch improves the game and provided difficulty settings.
I agree - can we have a return of the disclaimer screen indicating the game is patched to the latest version - or at least list the version number were purchasing

Crap. I almost guessed that.
That's disturbing... It's not the first case GOG gives a non-patched version, which we ourselves can't patch.
GOG used to deliver games patched to the latest possible version; I don't know what got them.
I emailed GOG over this issue, and I suggest you do the the same.
Frankly, if the GOG version was patchable,,I would just recomment they post the patch on the site, but since GOG changing the executable for the game (probably having to do with removing the CD must be in the drive feature) made the Official Sierra Patch unusable I think GOG owes it to us to fix this. Please Email GOG over this.
Yes we are awere of this and we will fix this as soon as possible :)
Please stay tuned .
The new version it's on-line now - patched , with manual etc.. :)

Can you also start to put the version number back on the web page so we know what we are purchasing - then all is sweet again - I know you have done that for this game, but I mean for all future games - Thankyou in advance

Strange because I downloaded it again after reading this post, uninstalled my old build, and after installing the game it still said 1.0 to me, and I wasn't able to pick difficulty levels.

I found weird thing when I tried to download the patched version. When I click "Add to downloader" it tells me that size is 364 Mb, but when I start my GOG-downloader, size of the file is only 359,5 Mb (the original).
Is the downloader getting the file from wrong place or such?
And ok, I bought it last night, at last, after so many recommendations.. :)
Edit: Looks like it works now. The filesize is bigger, at least..

Great, but is it really useful ? I mean besides from the difficulty setting which makes the game easier, is there real improvements over the gameplay (bugs fixed...) ?
Having downloaded the game as soon as puchased, it's a kinda pain in the a** for me to uninstall and redownload it again for a feature that, IMO, totally spoils the game.
