Hello, I've been playing Caesar 3 for a while on my laptop, and I've had no problems. This week I seen something pop up on the screen about Caesar 3 having an update. I downloaded the update through GOG website and now the game won't start anymore. When I click on the game to start like I usually do it takes me to the GOG website. I delete the game and reinstalled and the game still takes me to the website instead of playing the game. When I start Caesar 4 it starts normally. This has never happened to me before until I seen that update notification. I don't know what to do. if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. I like playing Caesar 3 and mi sad I can't play it anymore. I have windows 11

I was having this issues on both my laptop and desktop. I completely uninstalled C++ and reinstalled and it works now.

The game won't start; the following error message appears.

msvcr100.dll is missing.
Of course, it's not missing, and I tried manually copying the file into the launcher. It won't let me, even as an administrator.

That's a reimplementation of the game that doesn't rely on 30 year old code. To wit, that is a version which introduces several quality of life changes (such as a global labor pool instead of relying on walkers) and roadblocks (which the other Impressions games had.). If you're a boring purist, there's also the Julius port.
