There doesn't seem to be a way to alt+tab out of this game running in fullscreen mode - anyone got a fix?

AFAIK, Alt + Tab isn't possible on C3 or Pharaoh.

That won't work, because Windows is automatically set to 32-bit colours, so you'd have to change the colour space to 16-bit colours. Trying this will just generate a message similar to "Cannot Set Windowed Mode".
