Hello,

My game (v1.11) crashes every time I try to pick up the gehnem's map in the Santa Cova cave. A message box appears with the message: "missing anim letter_a_location/object_gehnens_map/animation/letter_a_english" and then it crashes.

I have tried to uninstall and re-install the game, but it didn't solve the problem.

A solution anyone ? Bueller ?

No solution, but there are at least three reports of it occurring on the Revolution forums, and a user has reported it on the official Facebook page which has been acknowledged (and the savegame provided), so we at least know they're looking at it.

I have to wonder whether it's something the patch broke because all the reports are fairly recent (in the last week) and obviously people have already completed the game before that. Maybe even just the GOG version of the patch specifically, because I'd imagine there's be reports of this happening on the Steam forums had it been occurring on their version.
I had exactly the same problem and I did this to get through it. Just toggle the display to window for this problematic passage (Game Menu Settings -> Visuals -> Windowed). I think that problem is related to the graphics source file for higher resolution and when you reduce displayed image size game starts loading data for animation from another file. Then You can switch resolution back. Hope this helps, it helped me.

Thanks! Had exactly this bug and your info fixed it for me. Shame on Revolution, they really messed up the game. In the german translation some of the tooltips to objects are utterly wrong, sometimes funny but it doesn't help the impression BS5 and revolution makes to me.
You are welcome! Hopefully it will help others too until the fix is available.

Thanks a lot, that did the trick for me! :)

Interesting, since I've been playing the entire game in windowed mode anyway. But my window is pretty large (on a 1440p screen), so I'll try to reduce it to a tiny one for this part and see what happens.

EDIT: Okay, so not quite that simple because the window is actually a predetermined size relative to your desktop resolution, no dynamically resizing it allowed. So with the desktop at 2560x1440, the window is still too large and the game still attempts to load the missing (larger) asset. So I dropped down my desktop resolution to 1920x1080, relaunched the game in windowed mode, and success.

I'm glad it helped. I tried to write it as simply as possible, not sure if it will work every time and I even forgot higher resolution (more than 1080). The essence is that in the directory with the game there are two source files for graphics, between which the game somehow switches. File for 1080 is corrupted for some reason ... Maybe it would be sufficient instead of displaying in window to set a lower quality (resolution) in game. However it is only for small part of game and then it is possible to return to its original setting :)

Hey... can you let me know which translations are wrong, then we will aim to get them fixed :)

I would, but I also would need to replay the game and I didn't saved often as I played it in 3-4 sessions right through. However: the woman in the flowershop had a funny name for instance. I don't remember it exactly anymore, but it was something like "loudspeaker" or "stereo" in german, which was somehow funny. There were some more instances where the text strings got switched somehow, but I don't remember those anymore. It wasn't a big deal, but on the other hand it doesn't make a great impression either.
Hi all,

It appears the wrong file was included in the most recent update on Gog - the 1080p graphics file isn't correct and this is causing the crash.

We are working with gog to resolve this; thanks for being so patient :)

You mean Fleur? Her name when you hovered over was Stereo or the dubbing is wrong?

All suggestions for corrections, even small ones, are very welcome!

Yes, fleur, her name escaped me. The floating text was wrong, the dubbing was fine.
Hi guys,

This issue has been sorted out and the new version of the GOG installer (2.1.0) is now available for download.

Unfortunately, you have to download the whole game again because we've been unable to create a diff patch for the 4 GB graphic file - I know it's a pain, but believe me, we've tried. :(

Please accept my apologies for this mistake.

Best,
Paczyk
