On Win10, GeForce 960. Core i5 somethingsomething.

Forcing Vsync through the Nvida options did not help.
Forcing the game to utilise just 1 core throuh "start /affinity 1 bs4pc.exe" did not help.
Running the game on minimalist quality settings did not help.
Running the game on Windows 7/XPS3/98 compatiblity mode did not help.

Combinations of the above did not help.

What what on earth does this game want from me? I cannot play it properly like this. :(

Do you have an integrated card built into your mobo? Laptops generally do, and some desktops as well. I've found I had to go into the Nvidia control panel and force the game to use the Nvidia card.
I have the same issue as Jammet, I've tried running compatibility, Forcing single core, quality settings, and the thing just wont run...I tried downloading the patch and installing it and my computer says there's nothing in the zip folder. I tried "-dontforceminreq" on my .exe which, had worked on another game, and MSconfig. My desktop should be pounding this game down, I can run witcher 2, FFS, yet video and sound are both choppy with some blackout of background, at least on the initial gameplay scene which is really all I can get to as it runs slow enough that it's unplayable, HALP! I'm not totally computer illiterate but I have no idea what to do

By now I have a completely new install (Windows 10) and a different graphics card.

;( And the problem persists.
Try modifying the file "custom.ini" in the game's folder.
Look for these lines:

[EmThreadManager]
m_uiUseExtraProcessors=0
and change 0 to 1. Save and run the game.
Same problem here (I missed this thread and posted my own asking the same question).

Similarly, my computer can handle more graphically advanced games without a hitch. I'm not sure if Revolution are still providing support for the game, as I emailed them two weeks ago and am still awaiting a response...
