Hello folks

I played Broken Swords 1 and 2 years ago and loved them (especially the first), but I gave 3 and 4 a miss as I didn't really like the slavish 'keep up with the tech' compromises.

Now, I gather that Serpent's Curse is full of references, and judging by reviews a lots of these refer to games 1 and 2 - which is fine - but am I going to be missing out on a whole seam of richness by not having played 3 and 4?

What do you reckon?

Thanks
Broken Sword 3 is particularly impressive. You'd be missing a lot if you don't play it.

Broken Sword 4 is also amazing, but has a problem with modern PCs. You'll have to play it at around 5 or 6 fps. I did and enjoyed it a lot.

You really should play every Broken Sword game if you are a true fan of the series.

It's not just about the references, part 3 and 4 are truly amazing adventure games. Do not miss them if you like adventure games.
If you didn't play 3+4, you won't miss anything of it in BS 5. It's not a requirement for BS 5 to play 3+4. Nevertheless, if you are a fan to the entire BS series, you have to play 3+4 also, like YavorN said. I didn't play 3+4 as well, because I don't like the modern 3D modelling too for this great comic adventure ;)
