Ok, so as has been mentioned before, Revolution Software is working on Broken Sword 5 and it will be in 2D! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Sword_5

And I just noticed on the Revolution website a post from Dec 31st, where they mention that their 'next adventure game' will be released around the middle of 2012. http://revolution.co.uk/

So it's looking like we'll be getting a brand new, 2D Broken Sword game in about 6 months or so! Can't wait!

What do you want to see in Broken Sword 5? Any speculation/predictions/hopes for it?

I'm kinda hoping that given GOG's stated new direction, that we might get a Broken Sword 5 release on here, even though it's not an old game :-)

I'm new to the series, but this sounds promising! I wonder what we can expect from the art with today's technology? I'd be great to see lots of high resolution, smooth (Disney-level?) animation...

Still though, can you confirm that it really is Broken Sword 5? The Wikipedia link you gave just goes to the general Broken Sword series article (which doesn't seem to mention 5), and Revolution's blog post referring to a new release in mid-2012 doesn't seem to mention Broken Sword 5. By their more recent direction (e.g. Broken Sword 1 & 2 Director's Cuts aimed at Wii and iOS, Beneath The Steel Sky Remastered only for iPhone), it almost seems more likely that it would be iOS related (Broken Sword 3 Director's Cut? Telltale seem to have brought their 3D adventures to iOS smoothly).
The February 1 post on here: http://broken-sword.tumblr.com/
is probably a better round up of what we know so far.

So they have mentioned on their official facebook page that we will be getting a Broken Sword 5, they just won't say when. Charles Cecil has also hinted at it in a couple of interviews: http://thegamingliberty.com/index.php/2011/05/18/tgl-interview-charles-cecil-talks-broken-sword-and-more/
^towards the end of the interview

GOG also interviewed Cecil in April: http://www.gog.com/en/news/qanda_with_charles_cecil_of_revolution_software_and
^see questions 5 and 7

So it seems that it's not a question of if we're getting a new game, just when.
Well, at last am playing Broken Sword 5, it's beautiful, funny and everything I've come to enjoy about the Broken Sword series. Thank you Revolution Software, you do good work! All your games are amazing:)
Also thanks to GOG for bringing these games here.
