I'm at the point of the story when they're going to Shikk to get to the Empire, before that there's the place named Checkpoint.
As soon as we get there, there's a cutscene of a man explaining about the road closed. Then Ursula point her gun and talk about wait til the night and get the guards. That's when my game crash.
During this conversation I noticed some graphic bugs also, sometimes someone just disappear, I have a screenshot of a double Ryu, i'll left attached.

I already ran a repair on GOG launcher, but it remains the same.

Is someone facing this issue or something like that? Any sugestion to solve?

Back here. I was trying a lot of things to fix the problem, already reinstalled the game, changed some configurations and still nothing.

But I noticed that I have 2 Ursulas on my party lmao. It really is bugged hard, hoping the dev team notice this post and fix it :(

Sure, I'm using GOG Galaxy. Checked for updates just in case and it's up to date

Maybe you installed at some point a mod for the game? Have you tried replaying only that scene after switching the game to Japanese? Although if your savedata is corrupt, I don't think it will help (by looking your image, you really should use more of a single slot to save your progress as precaution...)

By the way, today I went through that same scene without problems in my playthrough (it is censored as the original English PSX, no surprises here)

No, I didn't installed any mod, just wanted to play the game as it is. I'll try switching to japanese and see if it works No I didn't use any of that, I don't even know what is a trainer
