I use DS4Windows to connect a Playstation 4 gamepad to my PC. If I have that running, the game immediately crashes on start. When it's not running, the game doesn't pick up the gamepad. I can play with keyboard and mouse but I'd much prefer not to. Any thoughts on what to check?

Specs:
Windows 11
MB: Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 4080
Ram: 96GB

You could try reporting it to gog staff and hopefully they can fix that in a future update.

Hmmm...in the game's dixi.ini file, there is complete support for Dualshock 4 without having to use a third party app. I wonder why it isn't working. Try starting the game first, then connecting the controller.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I was also surprised that it didn't work without a third party app. I did file a support ticket. I hope this gets sorted soon so I can play with my preferred input.
