Ive made some custom bindings from the options menu in game with controller and keyboard, and they do not save after restarting the game. Does anyone else have this issue? I made sure to confirm my changes in the menu, it just seems to reset after starting the program again.

I have the same issue on the Steam Deck. No settings persist between play sessions.

Did you press return on the keyboard after you changed the bindings? I can confirm that the bindings get saved for me. I bet you just changed the bindings without pressing enter on the KB to confirm. If not, it might be a folder permission issue that prevents writing to the config file.

I pressed enter and then returned to the previous screen. I'm gonna check those permissions, though. Sounds like it might be the problem.

I do believe that the bof4.cfg in the game's install directory is the file that is written to.

no...it was solved by me, wise guy. lol. oh well...at least it's solved.

Im on steam deck too, how exactly do you change the permissions to allow the file to write the settings?

BTW i fat fingered the solution button on mobile

I can't answer that question, but maybe the brazilian guy or someone else can hopefully since we know it works now. Maybe youdid mark the correct user as the solver. lol

All I can do at this point is wish you the best of luck, and hopefully someone else will chime in. i have never touched Linux in my life. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

What i ended up doing for now is installing the game on windows and copied the cfg with the saved settings over to linux.

Works for now until it actually gets figured out

Have you been exiting the game using the F9 menu? I've found that on my machine, some settings (like changing Dash from Manual to Auto) are only written to file upon the game closing properly. If you haven't been exiting using the F9 menu, try binding one of the inputs on the Deck to F9 and use that instead.
