I believe you have to press F9

Yes, it's F9 to exit to menu and F9 again to exit the game. A window will pop-up each time and give instructions to confirm etc. I don't think in-game they documented this properly, hence why so many people ask about it.

[DISCLAIMER: I own the GOG version, but I actually have a pc version from elsewhere, but it should function the same and everything looks the same from what I can see. I'll install the GOG version at some point. My current version is also using dgVoodoo which didn't come with it, but was manually installed]

Though some people posted that had issues with it. In those cases, they seemed to use the ALT + F4 to close the game. Though make sure you Save first before using the 2nd method.

Can confirm - someone mentioned F9 offhand while I was looking for the "I really screwed up that minigame, let me try that again" Return to Menu

In Game: F9 + F9 to go back to New Game / Load / Options screen then F9 + F9 from there to close game

Someone in one of the posts also mentioned a manual was included, but I'm not sure where that would be and I forgot to ask them lol. And no idea which post it was (or maybe it was in one of the reviews on the game page).

If it exists, then maybe it has all the instructions and key binding info. Also, I think I saw in-game somewhere a control layout. I'll have to check and report back (maybe with a screenshot) if I really saw that.

I can answer the Manual question at least - same place you'd go to change the graphics settings to get the "old school look" just instead of the Direct X option you select the manual

Link to an Imgbb screenshot of where the configuration options are

Also available in the Program Files > GOG Galaxy > Games > Breath of Fire IV folder as the PDF it links to anyways

Thanks for that info. Also, I don't use GOG Galaxy, since mine is offline installer files, which I moved to play on my Windows 7 SSD (which is permanently offline now).

Ah, okay then the files will be included in whatever folder you installed - I occasionally install from the old Pre-GOGalaxy installers for older games I've got too when I want to play a game on my backup, barely functioning scrap desktop.
