Have you checked the audio options? I've read that for some people all audio options were set to 0.

I just finished the first game (version 1.04) and had no issues with sound (audio, voices, sfx) not playing at all. Check in the rayne1 config file (...\Documents\BloodRayne1\settings) if the following lines are set to 1:
SfxChannel2Enabled=1
SfxChannel1Enabled=1
SfxChannel0Enabled=1
If that doesn't do anything delete the config file and let the game create a new one on launch. Maybe that will fix the problem.

I've had the same issue. Turned out that Effects Volume and Music Volume were set to 0, the bars look like they're on max by default but they actually are on min.

PERFECT! This was exactly the issue I was having, and manually setting the volume to max is what fixed it. Thank you!
There is also a second, deeper issue at play here: for me, there was no sound when the game was launched through a desktop shortcut, but everything worked correctly if launched through GoG Galaxy.
