Bloodrayne 1 has better, more refined gameplay, whilst Bloodrayne 2 has a better story.

Yep. That sounds about right. With Bloodrayne 1, Terminal Reality just wanted to create the ultimate Vampire power fantasy, and succeeded with flying colours and a fantastic protagonist, however the story was an excuse for you and Rayne to get from points A to B. With 2, they massively improved the writing, but bit off a bit more than they could chew trying to turn the game into a more traditional hack-and-slash-action-adventure game. It's still fun, but it's a bit more janky and the final third of levels devolves into a mini-boss rush. Not to mention it features one of the worst levels ever in "Shroud Tower Ascent".
Themken: Yes.
