Hi everyone, writing here in hopes somebody has had a similar experience so I can find the light at the end of the tunnel.

At the end of the first mission, as the game asks me to save, and I press “new save”, I get a message about “an error with reading my hard drive”. This is the first time that I’ve had this kind of error pop up in any game, and it seems a compatibility issue, rather than an issue with my PC itself. I tried running as admin, but it didn’t seem to fix the issue. Verified files, still no dice.

I haven’t tested compatibility options yet, but because I’d need to finish the first level over and over again (and I’m a recently made dad), I’d prefer to try here first, before I brute force trial and error in hopes of something working.

Finally, I dunno if it’s relevant, but the game doesn’t generate a window on my taskbar for some reason. I realised that when I tried to stream the app on discord, but it wasn’t one of the options. It is however possible to alt-tab back into it, despite not having a window for it. This is again a first time occurrence for me. It might help, it might also be useless.

I have feint hope given how old this game now is, but I’d appreciate the time of anyone commenting here to find a solution! Be well, and thank you!

that would be correct. I ended up refunding for now, as in my current arrangement I can't no-life it start to finish, and I can't keep it running eternally until I finish.

But if there's a solution for it, I'd love to rebuy it and try it out.

I was having the same issue with BloodRayne 1 Terminal cut not saving, on Windows 11 too. I was able to fix the problem!

The BloodRayne saves are meant to be located in your documents folder. It turns out that Windows 11 by default uses onedrive for documents instead of the local documents folder, if you are logged in (which I was forced to log in on my laptop, thanks Windows!). I figured out that something weird happened to my onedrive documents folder, and it was named in Japanese, while it was displayed in English to me. I have multiple language keyboards enabled so I guess that messed it up upon creation. After kicking onedrive out by unlinking it from my PC, Windows goes back to using the actual documents folder, and I made sure it was named using English letters. After running the game, saving works!

So if you decide to rebuy the games and try again, make sure that whichever documents folder Windows is using (the actual folder or onedrive) is in all English characters only. You'd have to log in to onedrive in your browser to change the name, I think.
