I know it's not technically about Blood, but it kinda is. the original disk came with the music video that is in the extras for download here on GOG.
Honestly I'm just curious over who actually likes Type O negative. I think they're.....meh, alright. they started out doing the kinda stuff like in the music video on here, then people game them flack over it being too emotional or whatever, so they went full death metal, then I guess faded into obscurity.

I find it kind of weird that THAT'S the licensed music that came with Blood. it's kinda fitting, but not really....
That music video was the catalyst that actually got me checking out Type O Negative. I still like some of the older stuff but I could only get into a few songs in "World Coming Down", anything after that I didn't bother checking out. Thing is back in high school, I really related to their music but not too much now (i'm 32 BTW) which would probably explain the change.

As for people giving a certain band flak over being too "emotional", it's all down to personal taste, such opinions should really be taken with a grain of salt at best or totally ignored. If you really want to understand what something is like, you should really check it out for yourself and decide.
This is very true. But personally I don't like when a band changes their style to make others happy. I mean if they wanted to change their style to try something new, like A7X, that's ok. But if its to fit in or for money I dislike this very much. If you're Thrash stay Thrash, if you're Death stay Death, if you're Power stay Power. You'll only get better at what u do best if u stick with it. Most of the time. But again change is ok as long as its for the right reasons. Type o negative I do not like because they're posers.
I own almost every cd from them, tough I don't have their last 2 albums... yet. They have a bunch of songs that actually move me.

If you haven't heard them yet, give A Pale Horse Named Death a try, it's Sal Abruscato's actual band.
Fair warning, this post will be biased because Type O Negative is my favorite band. They never changed their style. Type O has always been Gothic Doom Metal. They are self described as, Black Sabbath meets the Beatles in a haunted factory in Brooklyn.

Different music does different things for different people, but this band has helped me through some tough times by writing songs that are about subjects that other bands and artists are unwilling to even admit exist within their personalities let alone touch on and admit to feeling that way in a song. They're unapologetic with brutal honesty about subjects ranging from depression, vulnerability, self loathing, suicidal, and violent thoughts, addiction, mourning of loved ones... They also had fantasy/horror and quite a bit of humor, sarcasm and ball busting interwoven within much of their work.

Peter Steele died in 2010. He was the lead singer and main composer of the music of Type O Negative. He used to sing for Carnivore before Type O Negative was formed. Carnivore was a death metal band which wasn't the right outlet for what Peter was trying to accomplish musically so this led to the formation of Type O. The band was one of a kind and they're sorely missed by myself and many of their fans now.

Love you to Death is referring to "little death" which is another term for orgasm. It's an extremely vulnerable, vivid, insecure and awkward yet boldly brave at the same time, song that I never get tired of. The band wasn't overly fond of the video or the shoot, but it is what it is. In my opinion the original longer version of the song is much more cohesive at illustrating it's finer points about putting the needs and wants of another before your own. That's not emo or weak. It's the exact opposite imo.

Like I said many of their topics can be hard pills to swallow but some appreciate no hold barred brutal honesty in music. I know I do.

I wish others could see the value I see is this band and what they contributed. So, give them another chance sometime if you can. Some people get it and others don't.
I liked their music since I first heard it, I am very eclectic in my musical tastes.
Haven't heard them in years so I'm not sure... It is my blood type though lol
Blood got me into the band and while I do not relate to the lyrics personally, the sound is what does it for me with them. They just have this dreary sound that really resonates to me for some reason, it is like the perfect Fall/Autumn season music if you ask me.
Type O's got some cool songs. They're hardly a favorite of mine, but I don't really dislike (most of) them either. They got picked because they were well known enough, not too big to be unaffordable, fairly accessible, and their gothy song subject matter fit the game. Same reason Megadeth got picked to do a few songs for the Duke Nukem Soundtrack "Music to Score By" (though that also had a lot of godawful hiphop).
they are amazing musically always learning and evolving their music an humor and each album is very different from any other album and none of them sound the same but they all have that type o feel
