Of all the games built on the Build engine, Blood comes out number 1 for me. When it came out the build engine was in its prime and Blood gave us access to an immersive game with great graphics. Not only that, but the story was compelling, the environments creepy but interesting and the enemies were engaging.
Blood takes us back to a time when games gave serious enjoyment, but also didn't take themselves too seriously. Calebs one-liners are dark but humourous. Each weapon acts differently, giving the player the feeling that there is a point to choosing a certain one for any given situation. The levels are well made, with plenty of hidden areas and secret levels to uncover for the gamer who must find it all, but straight forward enough for those who want to run and gun their way to a fastest time.
I'm still debating with myself whether Caleb's flare gun or Lo Wang's sticky bombs are more fun, but over all Blood is my preference for having a Build experience!
Last but not least, Blood's multiplayer component is just fun; especially loading you friends (enemies!) up with flares and waiting for the eruption into a running ball flame. Sure I'm a balanced well-adjusted individual. I just like the thought of toasting my bloodbath buddies like so many marshmallows.
Blood is a must have for all who love first person shooters and dark humour.
