Just like the title says, the game takes an incredible amount of time to save, some times up to 5 seconds! This wouldn't be an issue if constant saving wouldn't be pretty much mandatory in higher difficulties. I'm playing the game on a HDD but come on, even if this a remaster the game is quite old!
Is worth pointing out both BloodGDX and nBlood quicksave/save in less than a second, so there is that.

LOL, you have it made . Takes me 30-35 second to save. Quickload is lightning fast though. It's a known issue and the time it takes to save varies widely for those having the issue. Been reported to the developers but whether they can reproduce it and find a fix remains to be seen. Hopefully they will .

Damn I should read the forum before purchasing this game. I myself got a crash-after-cutscene bug which makes the game unplayable.

The developers have said this about the saving issue:

"We write a bit more save data to files than the original version and, as such, it takes longer to generate. We'll see what we can do to speed it up."
