Hi there!

In last days I tried to fix my Blood 2 on modern PC with W10. So I installed dgVoodoo and widescreen fixes. Everything is working fine but then I remembered, that Blood 2 since patch 2.0 have EAX support. So I looked to Alchemy and did a proper entry.

Then I launchd Blood2.exe, clickd Advanced Properites, 3D Sound, and... it crashed. Everytime. When I delete Blood 2 entry in Alchemy, then launcher cannot see my SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card. And I cannot choose EAX support.

Is there any fix for this? I think it could work, when for example I would add couple parameters in "autoexec.cfg". There it can be defied which 3D sound should be in game enabled (EAX, A3D, etc.). But I don't know commands for this engine. Google is also helpless.

Any ideas? Please guys, you are my only hope. :)

I am using Windows 7 64-Bit, and Alchemy works for me.

I did a diff between No 3d Sound and EAX enabled in autoexec.cfg.

No 3d Sound:
"3dsoundprovider" "0"
"3dsoundprovidername" "No 3D sound"

EAX enabled:
"3dsoundprovider" "2"
"3dsoundprovidername" "Microsoft DirectSound3D with Creative Labs EAX(TM)"

FZR0: No 3d Sound:
"3dsoundprovider" "0"
"3dsoundprovidername" "No 3D sound"

EAX enabled:
"3dsoundprovider" "2"
"3dsoundprovidername" "Microsoft DirectSound3D with Creative Labs EAX(TM)"
This was really helpfull. Thank you! :) So now I can run this, but I cannot hear any difference. Probably something more I need to configure. Can you tell me @FZR0, what settings have you in autoexec.cfg here (I mean values)?

"max3dvoices" "0"
"sound16bit" "1.000000"
"maxswvoices" "0"

Also I'm curious, do you run blood2.exe in compatibility mode?

And what settings do you have in ALchemy?
(My are buffers 4, duration 25 and max. voice count 128.)

My sound card is the Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB.

My Alchemy settings are the same as you listed.

The 3 settings you listed in my autoexec.cfg

"max3dvoices" "16"
"sound16bit" "1.000000"
"maxswvoices" "32"

The compatability settings are probably from GOG because I don't remember setting them.

I took a screenshot of the settings.
