This is old news I know but I just got a Windows 11 computer and blood 2 in galaxy, will not start.
I get the small screen where you can make adjustments, clicked launch blood 2 and it crashed. No blacvk screen, no error messages just would not start.
I have scanned this forum, but need somoen to tellme, out of all the opitons there seem to be for fixing this, which one actually works. Before I spend time on the infamous 32 step solution,I wold like to be sure it works.
,if there is a smpler way, please tell me.
I know Blood 2 has always had a history of problems...the early litech engine was really buggy but first time is just refused to start.
f it matteres, I have a Nvidia GTX force 3050.

GoG Blood 2 includes dgVoodoo. But I note, on fresh install the Blood2 launcher defaults to d3d and physical video card installed in system.

Try choosing the dgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper as the "display". I have noted on this Windows 10 machine, and possibly any machine at all regardless of W10 or W11, that Blood 2 does NOT like resolutions above a certain number. It starts the menu stuff, but as soon as you select the difficulty (Homocide in my test just now) it freezes. You can still control-alt-delete do taskman and close it thankfully. This was selecting 1920x1080, the monitors resolution.

1024x768 worked fine though (as did 1280x960). Unsure what the resolution limit is here that breaks the game. Or if it is just wide screen that the engine does not like.
I will test this at home later today with my W11 partition I rarely ever use because MS keeps breaking everything in the name of security. Good for businesses, bad for gaming.

You also may go to the Blood2 folder directly and run dgVoodooCpl and mess with the settings under DirectX tab to do scaling if desired. I have not messed with those. And I don't know much to give you pointers. You can hold mouse cursor over most things and it will tell you what it does. For resolution, hover over the upside down ^ selector.

Edit: also make sure the DirectPlay Windows feature is installed. Often helps with instant game crashes when game is trying to play its intro videos.
