Ok so the only resolution that does not have the least big of lag is 320x200. There is a nice bit of lag when you reach the gates with a higher resolution on, and alot of lag in that frozen storage room in the train.

What are mah choices guys?

upgrade the included dosbox to 0.74. According to some people, the performance is better then at higher resolutions.
If you check your startmenu for the game I believe it should have a graphics setup utility as well that you could try changing the renderer.(fairly sure all the build engine games come with it).
hq2x and hq3x will munch on your CPU power. That's just one reason I prefer using openglhq or the hq pixel shader from gulikoza's DOS Box builds.

Personally I ran blood at 640x480 in-game, 1920x1080 (letterboxed on sides) in DOS Box and the framerate IIRC stayed around 50 and above. When I ran at 800x600 the framerate would drop to 35 and above, which is why I switched.

Also IIRC this is one game that benefits tremendously to setting core=dynamic.

GameRager: I set mine to hq2x and don't see a problem with frame rate going down....I also have resolution in-game set as high as it will go.
Well unless you use the "forced" (or is that "force"?) option, hq2x won't do anything when the in-game resolution is above 320x240. And if you forced it, it would mean an effective resolution of 2560x2048 (1280x1024 doubled) so no point anyway.

However if you really are playing at 1280x1024 in-game and seeing good performance, you must have one monster of a system. I have an E8400 and I get framerates in the low teens when I try that.

GameRager: I have a 3.4Ghz Phenom II actually....which is running pretty good.....even at stock speeds.

I set the dosbox settings file to run the game at native/original resolution(ie whatever the game is running at), and the scaler to hq2x. My monitor is 23-24 inch (widescreen) so I get high resolution options....looks good at any rate IMHO.
What framerate are you getting? You can see it by typing "rate" in the chat IIRC.

However the hq2x really shouldn't be doing anything at that resolution and without forcing. Try taking a screenshot (using PrintScn, as DOSBox's screenshot function ignores scalers anyway) and comparing with scaler=none.

GameRager: With hq2x on and setting resolutions in-game to 800x600 and 640x480/1024x76, I get around 55-75 varying framerate, it doesn't hold steady....still it's pretty good.

800X600/640X480/1280X1024 resolutions all no flicker, 1152x864, and 1024x768 flicker around the weapons area and towards the bottom of the screen.

I'll test changing the dosbox fullscreen resolution to my screen's max res of 1920x1080 and disabling scaler instead of native resolution and hq2x settings next.
Hello, i have many test with dosbox and it dosen´t support "1920x1080" stretch or full screen without black borders. The hq2 mode not support resolutions bigger than 1024x768.

The best resolution for play this game in new pcs is 1280x1024 and "superEaglesai2x" scaler.
