Running into an issue on Windows 10 64-bit 21H1 where the game launches to a black screen. Sound plays but there is no video whatsoever.

I've tried compatibility mode, dropping the native resolution, restricting the color mode and have re-installed with the offline installer and the GOG Galaxy installer.

Anyone have any luck getting this to work after running into this issue?

I'm seeing, maybe, a similar issue where the game briefly launches and then closes. I tried a bunch of compatibility settings and nothing seemed to work. Same version of Windows 10 (21H1).
the issue is the with DirectX

I have already found a solution to be able to convert it from DX7 to DX12...just wating for Nexusmods staff to approve of the game then I plan to share my guide to do it yourself...
Same issue on my end. I hear a water sound after launching the game but all I see is a black screen.
On Win10, enabling the DirectPlay Legacy components might be worth a shot. Helped me with quite a couple ancient games and their quirks without compatibility modes and whatnot.
Under control panel -> programs and features -> turn windows features on or off (on the left hand side) -> scroll down to "Legacy components" -> set the checkmark -> click OK and let Windows do its thing -> once it's finished reboot for the changes to take effect

That stuff is already activated on my end but the game still doesn't want to work proper.

EDIT: It's working now after I pressed ESC during the black screen a few times.

I deliberately keep Win10 on a specific older version (1909) here on my end, maybe that's why I don't encounter any of the described issues?

Nothing to add, other than same here. The weird thing is that it depends on the monitor it's output to; it'll work on one and the other it's virtually impossible to get anything but black & the dripping noise.
Dont forget to properly configure DXCFG (dxcfg.exe). Also dont forget you need "launch as admin" to install and first launch (galaxy.exe for online build or offline installer exe and game exe for offline build)(dxcfg also as admin).

I'm running 21H1 and can run the game fine without any issues at all, so the issue isn't with the Windows version. It's with your setup somehow.

The game comes with a DirectX config tool, you can access it in GOG Galaxy by clicking on the config button (next to the play button) then Additional executables -> DirectX Settings. Alternatively, run the dxcfg.exe file inside the game folder.

Try playing around with some of the settings in there and see if you have any luck.

The game seems to have some issues for some people running at resolutions higher than 1920x1080 so check what resolution your monitor is running at.
