I have an Xbox One and Steam Controllers. I could not get any of them to work. The only time it will detect any input with the controllers is on the screen that states "Press Any Button". After that, I can only use the keyboard to play. Anyone have a fix or anything that could remedy this issue?

I have installed it through Galaxy and through the offline installer.

Yeah, same here using a wireless 360 controller in Win 7. I "fixed" it by setting up an Xpadder profile. Actually, I've been having more and more new games not recognize the controller lately. Whenever I contact the devs about it, they never have any idea why that would happen.
I'm having the same issue, whan prompted "Press Any Button" I can do it with my controller but once the main menu loads it is not recognized and can only use mouse and keyboard. I am using an Xbox One wired controller.

Same problem here. This is godawful; the keyboard controls are complete crazypants nonsense. Looking online, it seems like all the suggested fixes involve fiddling around with "Steam Big Picture Mode", which sure does those of us not on Steam a fat lot of good doesn't it?
Hey guys, I solved the problem on my system! I had Aimtrak lightguns connected to my system. Once I uplugged them, the game works perfectly! Check and see if you have any other game controllers connected or anything that might be erroneously detected as a controller. This actually fixed a score of games that weren't working for me!
I just bought a new controller just for this game - hasn't been working at all except for the very first "press any button" screen until I fixed it as follows:

It's a Razer Raiju PS4/PC controller, I'm playing the game on a Razer laptop.

What definitely didn't work for me:

- plugging and unplugging the controller in various instances before and during the game
- using "InputMapper", a program that can emulate an Xbox360 controller (kind of)
- deleting some game files related to keyboard and controller settings as mentioned in other posts
- unplugging other USB devices - there simply are no others
- deactivating/deleting other controllers that can be found in the device manager - there is only the one I want to use

What did work for me:

- Installing a driver from the Razer Support page. The driver that's been installed when connecting the controller to Windows first time apparently wasn't enough. Now Windows detects it as "HID-compliant game controller" and it works with Blasphemous.

I had the same issue with a 360 controller and got it working in a different way. I added the game .exe to steam and activated the generic controller option inside steam. Now running it from steam it works fine.Hope that can help someone
Same issue here.

Surely a game should ship with out-of-the-box support for a Generic USB Controller?

Come on developers! Help us out here.
i have the same problem

The same issue for me, the pad works well in other games.
When I try to map the buttons on the pad nothing happens during the controller setup and the default ones don't work as intended, for example the one responsible for "attack" is not working.
I've head plenty of controller headaches as well.

Even with x360ce it behaves oddly, often causing odd inputs after changing from one screen to another. Going into the the controller options and leaving again fixes it only to, again, revert after I jump to a new screen. Often there are loads of odd inputs like there are two, often contradictory, inputs being made at the same time.
