Saving issue:


I've played yesterday until i cross the bridge which brings you to the second area of the game, and reached the roof of the archicathedral. I saved and went to sleep. Today when launching the game i'm back in the covent, right before the boss fight... I've lost all my flasks, my items, everything, it's like all my progress from yesterday never existed...

Might be either launching via galaxy and next time playing directly via game's exe. I hear it makes difference. I would stick to only one way of launching the games.

However it's more likely that you encountered cloud save corruption. Once you quit the game, you have to allow some time for saves to be uploaded to cloud. If the process is interupted, or galaxy gets closed too early, it would most likely mess up your save's upload. Same goes on steam cloud saves or any cloud based service in general.

If I were you, I would check your local saves first and see the timestamps, to know what got saved from your progress. Next would be sticking only to galaxy or standalone build from now on... no swapping between them. Last one would be to disable cloud saves in galaxy, if they are causing you problems. In general I recommend this to everyone with flaky internet connection and/or impatient people who close stuff before it uploads correctly. Hope this helps.

I'm using the offline installer, not Galaxy. How can i fix this mess?
Encountered 2 new bugs:

#1 After receiving new skin for our character, I selected it in main menu (extras) and all was good. Played a bit further, but after closing the game and loading it back, the option in the extra menu disappeared completely.

After hitting this wall in the library, I heard the secret door opening, but visually the texture didn't change. You can walk into it and clip-in as on screenshot, however once you are further in, you can't get out anymore and are stuck in the wall. You have to quit to the main menu to get out of there.

You can do the same thing as others and check your local save directory to see if anything remained there that could be salvaged. If you had cloud saves enabled, moving your local saves elsewhere (and backing them up) would force to load your cloud saves next time you launch the game, ideally restoring them.

For example I have 3 different game kitchen folders containing saves...(prototypes, demos and full game) and I suspect there might be some conflicts between versions. Although in 30h of gameplay I had no problems with saves myself, despite having cloud saves enabled and playing via galaxy. Only issue is the missing character skin, but I guess that's unrelated bug.

I found the saves, but for some reason the game does not load them. I had to copy to another folder (GOGUser_191103297337947408) to work. That's weird.

Anyway, thanks for the help. Now i can continue the game. :)

No worries, glad you got it working! Better backup your saves once in a while manually, just to be on the safe side until devs fix whatever is causing the problem.

I wasn't that far into the game anyway, so starting all over again for the Perpetua fight was not that big of a deal in my case. Also wanted to see if the weird graphics artifacts-problem only myself and a couple other people seem to encounter persists.
At the end I found the missing Perpetua's bead, so it's obtainable even if you miss the fight early on. That was the last one for 100% ingame completion for me.

Unfortunately, none of the unlocked character skins were present after the game restart. I wonder if the deluxe dlc skin has the same problem...

it doesn't. Apparently, it only happens with unlockable skins.
6) Two more typos in lore entries:

1. 'Silver Grape': Should be "the pure grace of >the< Miracle will penetrate", just like it says two lines later in the text, "nourished with the pure grace of the Miracle."

2. 'Ember of the Holy Cremation': Wrong punctuation with a period at the end of the 'Ember of the Holy Cremation' title.
As well as too much spacing at "from the undertakers, the soil dropped cold".

10) Very minute and hard to make out but the stonework texture on this doorway doesn't line up with the right edge of the screen and the Penitent One is still partly visible while passing the doorway to the Chapel of Travel room.

11) The layering order of certain assets and level elements in the 'Library of Negated Words' is all over the place and anything but consistent.
Sometimes it's the Penitent One that's in front of the assets/elements/textures (when, from the player's perspective he actually shouldn't) and other times it's the correct order with the Penitent One covered by and behind them. Very inconsistent. The placement too (sometimes at or on the wall, sometimes off the wall, hovering mid-air).
