I've searched all over. I've got 100% items. I watched a Youtube video and searched all over where it is supposed to be. I think it might be bugged. Is there an easy way to get the detonator into my inventory or to skip the level or am I simply effed in the a?
This question / problem has been solved by Ralackkimage
Well there are cheats

If you can get them to work easily is another matter. It looks like your best bet will be to run dosbox first, then load the game in manually and use the /powerball commandprompt(hopefully works in dosbox). Then use the level skip cheat, save your game, come out of it again and run it properly with the shortcut.
I've killed everything in Area 8 and (as far as I can tell) have explored the entire map...

No detonator. T_T

Has anyone gotten past Area 8 while playing the gog edition of Blake Stone: PS?

Yeah, I found the detonator in a large grey room near a pillar and guarded by one of those boar-headed robots.
Edit: Here are some maps for the game. The room the detonator in is in the upper right corner of the picture. Although, I remember the detonator being closer to the middle of the room, I don't remember exactly.

Thanks for the map SCPM. ^_^

I just finished searching that room again. No sign of the detonator. T_T

Must be a glitch. :/
Maybe you already have the detonator? Find the cube and try to detonate it.

Tried that, sadly to no effect.

I'll try re-installing later.
Maybe the level data was corrupted. :(
Back in the days when I had this game I found every detonator and completed. Haven't played it that much on Gog, I mostly bought due to nostalgia

I too am searching the place up and down, but there is absolutely no detonator. That's disappointing.

Good work in necro'ing a thread that's been dead for almost 2 years.

This thread may have been dormant but it was not forgotten.

If anyone has made it past area 8 in the GOG edition of Planet Strike or knows a way of fixing the problem it would be appreciated if you'd post the solution.

(I know you can use cheats to bypass the level, but I'd much rather clear the game without using them if it is at all possible.)

I have run into this issue as well. Here is what you do:

1) At the command prompt, run the command:

bs_fire /POWERBALL

POWERBALL - Enables debug keys. This also requires that you hold down the
left and right shift keys during the JAM Logo intro.
Don't hold
them down until the white letters start to appear. Once the PC-13
screen is loaded, you can let go. You will hear a "ching" sound
during the intro when debug mode has been successfully enabled.
The "ching" sound will only happen if you have a sound card. If
you have a PC speaker, you won't hear this.
2) Load your Area 8 saved game in the Planet Strike menu.

3) Once you are in game, press the backspace and w keys.

4) You will see a level select window. Type in the number 8, press Enter, and it will bring you to Area 9.

For some reason, typing the number 8 brings you to Area 9. That is correct.
