So I've got all the clues and I've spoken to everybody about everything and everybody. Lichen Dog sellers, Crazy Legs Larry, arrested the entertainer from the comedy club, have the jewelry clues, car registration, everything. Lucy doesn't spawn in the arcade and neither Early Q nor Dektora spawn in the nightclub. Hanoi won't let me upstairs although I can manage to sneak into the VIP area obviously. Anybody with the same problem? Tips or solutions?

edit: Solved. I've spent two hours entering and exiting both the arcade and the VIP area over and over again and nothing happened. After I posted this everything worked as it should. Whining in the forums works... :D

I'd search for Lucy more.

Lucy is on a real-time schedule so she is bound to appear in the arcade iirc.

if you are still having trouble or think that this is a bug, please upload a relevant save game so I can have a look and see if I can help more.

Edit: I just read that you've solve it by yourself. I'm glad you got it working!

I had a similar issue with characters not spawning in various locations, but heading back to the apartment and heading to bed made them appear the next 'day'.
OK I'm in the EXACT same case, and I'm stuck. Entered the VIP area a ton of times, went to bed too, I also load the automatic save from act 3 to redo all over again, this time with the help of a walkthrough that I followed religiously and STILL NOTHING HAPPENS.

So I was wondering if you remember doing something special before finally being able to talk to Early Q? I may try to keep entering and exiting the VIP Room until I see him, but I'm pretty annoyed at the moment and more likely to stop the game :(

Unless someone has a save before meeting Early Q? Even if it cancels my other decisions in the game (I kept Gordo alive), I wanna go forward .

Could you provide a bit more information?

Have you not found any of the suspects (Gordo, Lucy, Dektora)?
If I am reading correctly, you have handled the situation with Gordo.
What about Lucy?

Under specific conditions (depending on parameters for your specific playthrough) Early Q may not make an appearance until you've dealt with all the other suspects in the act (that is, Gordo *and* Lucy). So it might be something like that for you. (The same could go for Lucy or Gordo too).

Furthermore, since the suspects are on a real-time schedule (sort of) they, indeed, may not be at their respective locations where McCoy is supposed to find them, at all times. In that case, try to leave that area entirely (takeyour spinner and fly to another area on the map) and then return back and check.

Going to the apartment to sleep, will not improve this issue -- other than it counting too as leaving an area and then returning back.

Also, please, if possible, play with the latest stable ScummVM version (2.2.0) or a daily development build (2.3.0git) because we have been fixing quite a few issues as they are reported to us. I don't recall any of them being responsible for the suspects not appearing in Act 3, but maybe the fixes improve the situation anyway.

If there don't work could you share a save file of your game so that I can check the situation?
Oh my, someone working on the ScummVM version coming to my rescue? I FEEL SO BLESSED.

I never met Lucy actually. I thought that it was maybe normal and that I would meet her later, so I never tried to leave and come back again at the gallery that often. BUT the many times I went by she was never there.

I'll try to come & go from there more often then, crossing fingers.

I also didn't updated the ScummVM version included with the game on GoG, it's the 2.1.0, so I'll do that first, and will come back with hopelessly good news :)
I've tried, and still no Lucy or Early Q. I've spent like 30mn just going back & forth between Early Q's bar and the arcade, nothing.

Just in case here are my saves: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NRyC4SIrZkfShV5nAK-Ox1Tr-dwa1PNc?usp=sharing

Maybe I did something wrong :x

Oh also I'm playing on the french version (nostalgia, nostalgia), maybe it is caused because of this?

It shouldn't be caused because you're playing the French version.

I've tested with your saved games. It seems it's not a bug, but the rather frustrating situation with happening across a suspect that is "moving" around in the world, at the specific place that the game expects you to. (This is an issue of the original game too, but I hope to make some improvements on it for the Restored Content version, we'll see).

In this situation, the game expects you to find Lucy first.

I took your saved game (the one at Early Q's VIP room) and travelled a bit around with the spinner (visited Police HQ) and then went back to Hysteria Hall. The save should be right before entering the Arcade and Lucy should be in there now.

The saved game was created with a development build of ScummVM (2.3.0git). If it's not loading for you, let me know of the specific version of ScummVM that you're running and I'll provide another one. But basically the game just expects you to retry visiting the Arcade until you meet Lucy.

Keep in mind, that to re-visit Early Q's VIP room, you again need to....

Minor Spoilers...

-- distract the body guard (Hanoi)
-- typically you will need to talk to him first (again), before focusing on the dancer
