I tried installing this on my new Mac running OS Monterey, but got an error message saying the game couldn't be installed because my Mac wasn't able to check it for viruses, and that I should contact the developer.

I was previously able to run this game on Mac OS Mojave, so I have a feeling that GOG hasn't optimised this game for the newer Mac operating systems. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to fix this so that I can still play this game on the new OS?

I don't have a device with MacOS Monterey, but the following links explain why this happens for third party apps and how you can disable it, to allow the apps to run, when you're certain that they don't actually contain any malware -- which should be the case for the GOG installer. The second link is more detailed about the issue and the "gatekeeper" security feature on Mac.

Thank you for the reply, the Control+Click option worked and I was able to install and run the game. So glad I can keep playing this classic on my new computer, I was worried it would be non-functional like so many other Mac games after Apple changed from 32 to 64 bit OS...
